The Hope of Spring

Haven't blogged for a couple weeks. Guess there just wasn't much blog-worthy and/or exciting to write about. But I've been looking for something and today I found it--the first crocuses poking up out of my flowerbeds! I like being back in a climate with four seasons, and I like winter. I even like snow and cold--for a time. But along about, oh...NOW!, middle of February, I get sick of it all and want green, warm, blossomy spring to hurry right along. So seeing crocuses makes me happy and hopeful that the snow is finally all going to melt, that the temperatures will gradually get warmer, and that I can go back to jackets and sweatshirts and put all the coats away. Yay!
We haven't done much with our yard since we moved in last August, but I did plant crocus and daffodil bulbs in the two flowerbeds in the front yard. Then my neighbor told me there were already lots of bulbs in those two beds. I'm looking forward to seeing what actually comes up. Maybe I'll have some beautiful flower pictures to post in the next several weeks. And I tend to be pretty good at flower photos--unlike kids, they hold still. :-)

hi there harmony! Good to hear from you. I wish you warm weather ahead!
I think I am like you. I am so excited to be in Pittsburg this time next year and waiting for the flowers to come up.
how wonderful! I am going to have to go out in my yard and start looking for my bulbs. I LOVE SPRING!!!!
I can't wait to see, I love bulbs but they are a lot of work here! I do have iris and day lily in my front yard though. I can't wait for those!
I still just have mud and resisted buying flowers last week for no other reason than to have color and fragrance in my life. I may not make it through this week though. I agree that I need more color and flowers in my life, but since I don't have any that hold much prospect of growing, I may have to use my green to get something green. I seem to have inherited a brown thumb.
I LOVE spring flowers. However, I have never planted bulbs yet. I am always to scared that I will do it all wrong (I am NOT blessed with a green thumb . . .) Can't wait to see the flower pics!
I agree flowers are much easier to photogragh than Kids! As you can tell from my blog, I have a really hard time getting my boys to look at the camera at the same time! So I gave up trying on them. I love flowers and Spring flowers are probably one of my all time favorites! They give you something to look forward to in the yucky and wet inbetween Winter and last of Spring. Good luck with the flowers, I bet your yard will be beautiful. I planted some bulbs, but with all our clay I'm only hoping for half to serface. Mostly I'm looking forward to being able to just let the boys go outside to play!
My Christmas cactus is blooming - again!!! But outside, nothin'.
